Graduate Engineer/Scientist (Ships and Dredging)

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to grow? We are seeking a Graduate Engineer/Scientist to help deliver our growing ship navigation and mooring related work. You will join our Ships and Dredging Group and take an important role in consultancy and research work.

About the role

You will be involved in ship navigation simulation studies, that often use our state of the art ship and tug simulators, and ship mooring studies that may use some of our extensive physical modelling facilities or numerical models. You will have excellent communication skills, underpinned by a technical background in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline. Experience/ knowledge of ship navigation, ship mooring and port operations/logistics related work will be an advantage. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in innovative research and development to support this growing business area.

About you

You will have:

  • A good engineering or scientific degree in a relevant subject
  • An ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • An interest in research and development in ship related topics.

The following will be an advantage: 

  • Data analysis and coding skills (Matlab, Python, .net) 
  • Knowledge of ship navigation and ship mooring work.

The successful candidate will be based at our Howbery Park offices near Wallingford, in Oxfordshire, UK.
