Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual looking for a new opportunity? We currently have a vacancy for a Model Technician in our construction team, based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
The construction team build highly accurate models, primarily from wood and concrete, in our extensive test facilities. Duties include assisting in the construction of experimental models for civil engineering projects and general maintenance of the model facilities. The majority of work will be undertaken indoors.
Experience in the building trade, particularly floor screeding, plastering and a clean driving licence would be advantageous, although on the job training / support will be provided. The capability to work from technical drawings and/or verbal instruction, self-motivation and a positive, ‘can do’ attitude are required attributes.
Additional skills such as welding, basic carpentry and construction plant licences or proven experience with heavy machinery (digger/roller/dumper/telehandler) would be useful; training / refresher training will be provided as required and we are open to considering an apprenticeship, or day release at college, to develop/expand skillsets if appropriate. The team often works to tight deadlines so willingness to work overtime (including weekends) as workload demands is important.
