SeaZone Charted Vector
Ideal for users who require a replication of a navigational chart for non-navigational uses, in open vector formats for GIS, such as application developers and system integrators for vessel tracking and route planning.
Charted vector depicts information relevant to navigation, for example only charted wrecks are supplied not the full wrecks database supplied with SeaZone HydroSpatial. The images below illustrate the difference between the two products.
SeaZone Charted Vector is derived purely from navigational chart data supplied by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (and overseas hydrographic offices, where available).
The data is split into levels according to the original scale of the source data e.g. H_Berthing, G_Harbour, F_Approaches, E_Coastal, D_General and C_Overview.
Within each Level the data is split into 6 Topic Layers, reflecting the same data structure, but with different content from SeaZone HydroSpatial.
Charted Vector ‘Offshore’ contains data from C_Overview and D_General only.
Charted Vector data contains all scale levels where available for the area ordered.
| Level | Scale | Precision |
|---|---|---|
| C_Overview | 1:500,000 | 150.0 m |
| D_General | 1:150,000 | 45.0 m |
| E_Coastal | 1:50,000 | 15.0 m |
| F_Approaches | 1:15,000 | 4.5 m |
| G_Harbour | 1:5,000 | 1.5 m |
| H_Berthing | 1:5,000 | 1.5 m |
Coordinate System
SeaZone HydroSpatial is supplied as standard in:
| Projection | Geographic Coordinates |
| Horizontal Datum | WGS84 |
| Vertical Datum | Chart Datum |
Other datums and projections are available on request and may be subject to additional costs.
Format
SeaZone HydroSpatial is supplied with a GIS Project so that the data can be displayed fully symbolised and attributed on opening, saving project time and costs.
| Software | File format | Project File |
|---|---|---|
| ArcGIS | Shape File (SHP) | HydroSpatial.mxd |
| MapInfo | MapInfo Table (TAB) | SeaZone HydroSpatial.wor |
| Cadcorp | Base Dataset (BDS) | SeaZone HydroSpatial.sis |
SeaZone is currently looking to supply data in ESRI Personal Geodatabase and OGC SQL92 Geodabase formats in the future. If you have a requirement for these formats or wish to load SeaZone data onto a relational database such as Oracle Spatial or ESRI ArcSDE, please contact us or state your requirement in your Quotation Request Form.
