New Development
SeaZone is developing HydroSpatial Version 2.0 and launching a pilot area in April 2011. This is a great opportunity for customers to evaluate and help shape the next generation of HydroSpatial.
SeaZone HydroSpatial V1.0 was first launched in November 2005 and has been adopted extensively across both public and private sector organisations as the UK’s national marine map and used in a wide variety of applications for environmental protection, economic development and risk management. HydroSpatial helps generate project efficiencies, cost savings, reduced risk, cross department/external co-ordination and improved decision making.
Developments to HydroSpatial V2.0 will include:
- Improved data structure and content, incorporating many new datasets (contact SeaZone for details of these new datasets)
- Incorporation of definitive GB land reference features (derived from OS Strategi);
- Provision of discovery and data use metadata
- Intelligent feature coding (so that users interested in data modelling, can filter and query on topic, theme and sub-theme using the improved feature coding)
- Improved support material, including a searchable HydroSpatial Feature Catalogue
- Mapping of all features to INSPIRE themes and feature types
A Pilot Area will be available from April 2011 for evaluation with customers’ able to provide feedback on-line and via individual sessions with SeaZone technical staff.
