Geomod Bathysis
BathySIS is a customisation of Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller that allows the user to analyse millions or even billions of 3D geometrical data points in geographical or projected co-ordinates: Airborne LIDAR survey, bathymetric survey, or simply contour lines and points, isobaths and soundings. By integration of these disparate data sources, a unique tiled model can be created.
Using a unique tiled approach, projects can be processed in whole or in part, thereby providing the capability of generating models unlimited in spatial extent and resolution.
Ideal for Coastal Zone Management providing 3D continuous modelling of the coastal zone by integration of bathymetry, topography, lidar surveys, etc...
A generic and complete module for
- Generation of model from point, linear and surface geometries. Including hardlines and iso-line contours.
- Combine models using arithmetic and Boolean operators.
- Multiple extractions (grids, iso-lines, wire frames).
- Computation on models: 3D analyze, calculation of volumes, layout of change of slope, section profiles.
Main advantages
- Unlimited volume of geometry in entry.
- Unlimited volume for every model generated.
- Allows complex spatial coverage: eg. river basin, coastal and disjointed or holed models.
- Localised corrections, updates and extensions to the models.
- Creation of models based on chains of iso-values, such as isobaths or contour lines, by a dedicated algorithm.
- Creation of water level models for use in flood defence planning within surface starting from dimensions observed or simulated, from readings on limnimetric scales, etc...
- Process all or part of the model - very useful when dealing with large volumes of data.
- Generation of iso-line contours based on advanced bilinear interpolation.
- For the models created in geographical co-ordinates, the algorithms of 3D analysis are carried out on the sphere, avoiding any deformation due to projections.
Compatibility
BathySIS can be coupled with other modules developed by Geomod such as:
- OffSIS (geodetic module) for the studies of extension of the continental shelf beyond the 200 nautical miles (UNCLOS project).
- S57reader, S57product for integration or production of S57 data (ENC, IENC, AML).
