HydroView Now

HydroView Now is marine web mapping product. Delivered through an authenticated Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) developers can utilise the service via an application programming interface (API) and portray HydroView Now within their company's internally facing intranet, desktop mapping software or externally facing website.

Comprised of key bathymetry feature types from charts supplied by official International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) chart producers and a global digital terrain model (DTM) forming a single mosaicked rendition of world-wide coverage, HydroView Now is specifically designed to be visualised alongside land-focussed mapping APIs such as Google Maps, Bing Maps or OpenStreetMap.

Ideal for use as a contextual mapping backdrop supporting marine spatial planning or situational awareness, HydroView Now allows developers to embed this basemap and any number of additional transparent overlays to suit the need of the business.

Features

  • Worldwide coverage with, "wrap-around" ensuring that all applications can be centric, particularly critical in the Pacific Ocean
  • Well resolved and symbolised polygonal depth area features derived from charted sources
  • Digital Terrain Model with shaded relief to provide relative elevation and seabed texture, particularly critical in areas of less undulating seabed surface
  • Intuitively included soundings (spot heights) to provide specific localised depth information
  • Transparent terrestrial areas to enable use of Google Maps, Bing Maps or OpenStreetMap

Benefits

  • Cost-effective worldwide marine mapping
  • Complete flexibility for multiple applications
  • Improved data content over similar products
  • Improved knowledge transfer efficiencies and interoperability across website users, internal departments or organisational consortia
  • Reduce data management costs through single implementation and continuous service utilisation
  • Pay only for what you use with tile allocation tariffs
