HydroView Charts are nautical charts available in raster GeoTIFF format (.tif) from official International Hydrographic Organisation chart producers.
Nautical charts are available in raster GeoTIFF format (.tif) with additional associated spatial referencing files (.prj, .tfw, .tab). Derived from paper charts and chart panels from official International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) chart producers, the charts are captured at the scale of compilation and geo-referenced to the inherent co-ordinate reference system. See the Downloads section above for an availability coverage map in shapefile (.shp) format.
They are supplied to you as the products ‘Charts’ and ‘Charts+’.
‘Charts’ are geo-referenced scanned nautical charts with all of their on-chart content as original but also provided with a discreet Seazone watermark which includes information regarding the chart edition and update date.
‘Charts+’ are geo-referenced scanned nautical charts with all marginalia removed (scale bar, text, titles, etc.). Each chart can be used with adjoining charts in a GIS environment to create a ‘seamless’ layer.
