Integrated Coastal Zone Mapping (ICZMap)

On this page you will find the background, objectives and information on Integrated Coastal Zone Mapping (ICZMap) project that was undertaken as a collaborative venture between Ordnance Survey, the UK Hydrographic Office and British Geological Survey. Also available is the Final Report of the ICZMap Project, funded under the HM Treasury Invest to Save Budget (ISB) programme and successfully completed in July 2003.

Since the ICZMap Project further work has been completed by the Project Partners, and others, to implement the recommendations contained within the Final Report. Ordnance Survey has completed work to better define the shoreline within OS MasterMap® and SeaZone Solutions Limited, has been working to provide a more detailed map of the seabed.

Much more work is still required and there is a need to bring in other partners that can provide data and augment existing expertise.
