Provided below is a summary of SeaZone’s Purchasing and Pricing Policies for data, software and services. If you require further information or clarification please contact Customer Services.

SeaZone Data
SeaZone data is subject to Crown Copyright and purchased under a Digital Data Licence. Publication of SeaZone data on the Internet is permitted under an additionally purchased Electronic Publishing Licence.
A summary of the licences are detailed separately under the Data Licensing Policy. A summary of the Digital Data License Fees are detailed below.
SeaZone Software
SeaZone Software is purchased under a SeaZone Software License, with purchase prices based on the number of copies of the software required. GIS software is purchased under the Vendors Licensing terms and conditions. Update and maintenance contracts are available on all software.
SeaZone Services
SeaZone Services are dependent on type, scale and level of work required. Prices are based on labour rates and delivery to customer requirements subject to SeaZone work schedules at time of purchase.
Digital Data License Fees
The purchasing price of SeaZone Digital Data Licences is dependent on a number of factors as detailed below.

Postage and Packaging is charged at £10.00 per supply to a UK address. Additional charges will apply for delivery by courier and overseas. VAT and other taxes will be charged at the prevailing rate at the time of supply.
Licence Administration, Data Preparation and Support Fees include administration, third party royalties, data extraction and preparation, supporting files and symbology, plus technical support covering installation and general inquiries on data structure etc. More detailed technical support may be subject to additional costs.

Data Usage Fees
Data Usage Fees are determined by the digital data product, the geographic extent of the data, the type and number of users required and length of the licence. SeaZone offers data products for a range of different user requirements. Each product incurs different Data Usage Fees.
SeaZone Hydrospatial, SeaZone Digital Survey Bathymetry and Charted Vector data pricing is based on half degree tiles with the exception of SeaZone Hydrospatial Offshore Bathymetry and Charted Vector Offshore data which is based on two degree tiles. SeaZone Charted Raster is priced and supplied as individual Admiralty Charts.
Volume discounts are applied to the number of tiles to be purchased. Data may be licensed by tile (or chart extent), by a SeaZone pre-defined area or a custom area specified by the customer. These areas are described below.
Data Usage Fees payable for custom areas will be based on the total number of complete or partial tiles supplied within, or intersecting, the custom area. An image will be supplied with all quotations for custom areas showing the area of data to be supplied. Examples are provided below.

Licence Users
Two types of users are defined within the standard Digital Data Licence. Each user type is specified separately in the licence but each licence may contain any number of both Local and Remote Users (please refer to the Data Licensing Policy for definitions of Local and Remote Users).
Use of the data must not exceed the type and number of users specified in the Digital Data Licence.
The following User Number banding is used to ascertain user requirements and the associated Data Usage Multiplier.

Licence Term Discounts
SeaZone's standard licensing period is for one year. Extended licence periods to up three years are available, for which there is a discount. Payment for the entire period is due on commencement of the licence.

Licence Renewal
Licensees will be notified in advance of the licence expiry date and on renewal will receive a 50% discount on the Licence Administration and Data Preparation and Support Fees. Details of pricing for the new licence period including for new or improved data products and any migration discounts will be included with the renewal notification.

Product and Pricing Changes
SeaZone continually improves its data, software and services as new information and technology becomes available. SeaZone reserves the right to update, introduce and withdraw products, software and services at any time and to change its pricing and licensing conditions. SeaZone notifies existing licenses and software users with a current support contract of all pricing and policy changes directly, and through other media including the SeaZone website
SeaZone data is protected by British Crown Copyright and other copyright and supplied under the terms and conditions stated in SeaZone's Digital Data Licence Agreement and Electronic Publishing Agreement.
These Licenses, which are non-exclusive and non-transferable, set out, among other things, the copyright and other intellectual property rights (IPR), and the permitted usage of the data by the Licensee as well as a number of restrictions.
We can only supply data for overseas waters where we have permission to do so from the copyright owner but this will be indicated when we reply to your Quotation Request.
